What we do

Three services, one steady hand.

01 · Downsizing

Letting go, with care.

Sixteen years of experience and a quiet, proven formula for helping seniors release belongings, donate meaningfully, and downsize at a pace that respects every memory.

Room-by-room sort · Donation coordination · Estate-sale referrals
02 · Packing & Unpacking

One team. Both ends.

While we eliminate what isn't moving, we simultaneously pack what is — clearly labeled for retirement living or long-term storage. Then we unpack you fully into the new home.

Color-coded labeling · Medications kept separate · Same crew unpacks
03 · Monthly Maintenance

We come back, gently.

Once you're settled, we revisit each previously-organized area on a monthly cadence to see what's working, what isn't, and quietly adjust to your changing needs.

20% senior discount · Flexible scheduling · No contracts

Our approach

Choreography, not logistics.

Most relocations handle the boxes and forget the person inside them. Senior moves deserve a different rhythm. Our team weaves together the practical pieces — assessments, contracts, movers, donations, deep cleans — while keeping the senior, the family, and the realtor or community staff all on the same page.

Sixteen years in, we've learned that pace matters as much as plan. We slow down for the photo album you didn't expect to find. We move quickly when the move-in date is firm. And we always, always carry medications and valuables ourselves.

The relocation roadmap

Nineteen steps,
four gentle phases.

Every move is a little different, but the framework holds. Here's the path we walk with most families — from the first kitchen-table conversation to the keys handed over at the old front door.

Phase 1
Assess & plan
  1. 01Assess physical, medical, and mobility needs
  2. 02Understand emotional readiness and concerns
  3. 03Identify decision-makers (senior, family, POA)
  4. 04Establish timeline and urgency
  5. 05Review contracts, pricing, and availability
Phase 2
Sort & decide
  1. 01Create a room-by-room inventory
  2. 02Decide what to keep, donate, sell, or discard
  3. 03Schedule donation pickups, junk removal, or estate sale
Phase 3
Pack & move
  1. 01Coordinate with community move-in staff
  2. 02Hire movers experienced with seniors
  3. 03Pack and label boxes clearly
  4. 04Transport medications, valuables, and documents separately
  5. 05Set up the new home
Phase 4
Settle & follow up
  1. 01Walk the senior through the new space for orientation
  2. 02Check in during the first week after move-in
  3. 03Address early issues or adjustments
  4. 04Complete clean-out of previous home
  5. 05Deep clean and prepare home for sale or rental
  6. 06Coordinate with real estate agents or property managers

The first step in working with Megan Sears Organization is to schedule a consultation. During the consultation, we'll assess your needs, discuss your goals, and develop a customized plan for organizing your space. After that we will work closely with a Senior Relocation Specialist and/or your realtor to help keep the process smooth for you.
"Megan moved my mother out of the house she'd lived in for forty-three years. She did it in a way that left mom feeling listened to and proud, not packed up and shipped off. We will be grateful forever."
